My 2023 wedding season kicked off in the best possible way on Saturday! It was an absolute pleasure to capture Anita and Will’s gorgeous wedding at St George’s Hall in Liverpool!
I knew I was going to love this couple just from speaking to them on the phone and through getting to know them on Insta (yes, I do stalk my couples!) and was really looking forward to meeting them! Needless to say, we had a brilliant time together, chatting and laughing all day!
The couple’s big day started at St George’s Hall, where Anita arrived in style in a vintage VW camper van. She had a big sunflower bouquet in hand and an even bigger smile on her gorgeous face! The ceremony was held in the Grand Jury Room which was packed to the rafters with all their guests. Extra chairs were even brought in for them! The ceremony was short but very sweet, with Will close to tears when Anita first walked in!
After the ceremony we did an EPIC confetti throw which is one of my favourite parts of any wedding! What I find works particularly well is the multi-coloured, paper disc variety that just looks amazing on photos! It also gets everywhere! In fact, if you don’t find confetti in your undies at the end of the day, then you didn’t have enough to start with!
St George’s Hall wedding photographer
Once the wedding guests were packed off to the reception venue, I had some time with the newlyweds to grab some portraits. We stayed around St George’s Hall as the weather was starting to turn and there was a threat of rain in the air. This part of the day is always a nice time for the couple to catch their breath and take in the day so far. I usually recommend allocating about 20 minutes for couple portraits as I don’t like to keep anyone away from their guests for too long.
It didn’t take Anita & Will long to settle into things and I absolutely loved photographing them! A wayward veil caused a few laughs and their gorgeous, big smiles were infectious. My camera just loved them!
Oh Me Oh My wedding reception
Anita & Will chose the beautiful Oh Me Oh My on Water Street for their wedding reception. A regular venue for me and I love the warm, relaxed vibe with fairy lights everywhere and big sharing platters of delicious food! After food and speeches we went onto the roof for some (slightly drunken) sparkler shots before everyone descended onto the dancefloor for the rest of the night!
Anita & Will, THANK YOU so much for asking me to be your wedding photographer! I had a wonderful time and couldn’t have asked for a better way to start my 2023 season!
Lots of love and best wishes for the future, Emma xxxx
