Last summer I had the absolute honour of shooting Zoe & Emma’s gorgeous wedding at Cheshire Woodland Weddings. What a day it was and what a stunning venue!
It was my first time shooting at this charming venue in Northwich, which is nestled in 15 acres of woodland. Hopefully though, it won’t be my last!
I loved the whole vibe of the day which was relaxed, colourful and loads of fun!
I had met Zoe & Emma the year before when I shot the wedding of Zoe’s sister, Val. They’d only recently gotten engaged and I remember thinking what a lovely couple they were and secretly hoped they’d get in touch when they booked their own wedding! A year later and look what happened!

Outdoor wedding ceremony at Cheshire Woodland Weddings
The barn was already set up and looking lovely when I got there, so I took a few photos there before meeting up with everyone just before the ceremony.
The area in the woodland where the ceremony took place is so magical! There are twinkly fairy lights in the trees and a charming little hut at the end of the aisle.
The ceremony itself was really lovely with readings from family members, an owl ringbearer and a fab confetti toss to seal the deal!

Activities galore at Cheshire Woodland Weddings!
If you book this venue for your wedding day, the one thing you don’t need to worry about is entertaining your guests! There are so many fun activities to do; archery, falconry, segway, mini golf, axe throwing and much more!

Couple portraits in the magical woodland
Once I managed to drag the couple off the segways we took a few minutes to capture some family group photos before we headed off into the woods!
It’s always nice to take some time away from your guests on your wedding day so that you can catch your breath and soak it all in because the day does fly by! Don’t worry though, I only take my couples off for about 20 minutes so you’re not missing out on all the fun!

Birds of prey display followed by party time in the barn!
Before everyone got stuck into the food and wine there was a birds of prey display outside the barn. If you suffer from Ornithophobia though, this might not be for you as the birds do get quite close!
The barn has a lovely rustic charm with it’s own fully licensed bar and fits 200 people. The couple had decorated it with loads of lovely, colourful DIY touches, with an otter theme no less!
Zoe & Emma both gave speeches which made everyone laugh and cry in equal measure, including me! After cutting the cake I left them to enjoy their food and get on with the rest of the celebrations!
Thank you Zoe & Emma, hopefully see you all at another family wedding in the future! 🙂
