Originally a school, this Grade 1 listed building is now a contemporary arts centre with two very different rooms to hold your ceremony and its own courtyard garden for your drink’s reception. It really is a beautiful backdrop for your big day. A city centre location that feels more like a little oasis away from the hustle and bustle.

Free State Kitchen
Since the pandemic and the rise of the micro wedding I’ve seen couples getting quite creative with their choice of venue for their wedding celebration. I love that some couples just want to have a small wedding and then take their loved ones for a really informal meal instead of opting for a more obvious venue.
Just off Hope Street in the Cultural Quarter you’ll find this relaxed restaurant with its own secret garden! Famous for its incredible burgers and locally sourced produce. American classics with a contemporary twist, perfect for small wedding celebrations.
The Art School
For the food lovers, just behind the Philharmonic Hall is Paul Askew’s restaurant with a choice of gorgeous rooms you can hire for your wedding breakfast, and you know the food is going to be good!

Wedding venues near Liverpool
Ness Botanic Gardens
My home from home! I shoot so many weddings here each year that I’ve become almost part of the furniture now!
Ness is a stunning outdoor venue that is beautiful pretty much all year round. In the spring you have blossom trees and wisteria, every colour under the sun in summer, right through to the most perfect autumn tones come October. Ceremonies are held in the Rock Garden followed by drinks reception before you and your guests can stroll through the grounds (stopping off for photos along the way!) to the conservatory for your sit down meal or more relaxed BBQ or afternoon tea!
See my blog for a beautiful Ness Gardens micro wedding.
And even if it rains you can still have an amazing time outside (see this wet Ness Gardens wedding) or you can move your ceremony up to the conservatory with breathtaking views of the garden.
West Tower
Built as a family home in 1885 West Tower is a romantic hideaway set amidst the Lancashire countryside, just a short drive from Liverpool.
You can hire the entire venue for your big day, with up to 145 guests. Ceremonies are held in the ballroom or, if the weather is kind, outdoors in the wooden pagoda. You can enjoy drinks and games on the lawn before partying the night away back in the ballroom. If you’re lucky, you might even get a stunning sunset to end the day!
