Wedding photography in Poppi
Back in July I was lucky enough to be asked by Jenny and Matt to join them in Italy for their beautiful wedding in Poppi! I mean, come on! I wasn’t going to say no was I?!
So off I went with my trusty side-kick and awesome second shooter Tracey for four days in the Tuscan sunshine! I tell you what, driving in Italy is interesting, especially when it’s your first time and you’re in a little Fiat Panda! We did manage to get there in one piece though, thankfully!
The wedding day was at the end of the week so we had a couple of days beforehand just to do a bit of sightseeing and of course to sample the local food and wine! The weather was glorious and the Chianti very, very moreish!
The wedding day was amazing! Jenny and Matt were staying at a stunning villa a short drive from Poppi with some of their family and friends. The whole day was so laid back it was horizontal, my ideal wedding! The couple both got ready in different parts of the villa, Matt and the boys even had time for ice-cream and a dip in the pool, before meeting at Poppi Castle for the ceremony. The ceremony was lovely with just the right mix of laughter and emotion.
After the ceremony we headed back to the villa, it was quite a sight seeing Matt squeezing into the back seat of the vintage Fiat 500, all 6’4″ of him! Once back at the villa we were treated to beautiful scenery and light, an amazing vegan feast of tempura vegetables and pizza the most heart warming of speeches where Matt announced to everyone that Jenny was pregnant with their first child! Tears of happiness all over the place!
The day was topped off perfectly with some pool games and cake (together!) 🙂
