A colourful and fun wedding in Liverpool – Jack & James

Leaf Liverpool weddingOn Saturday I had the absolute pleasure of shooting James and Jack’s colourful and fun wedding in Liverpool! And what a day it was! I think everyone knows that I’m a massive fan of colour and I have loads of fun with my couples on their big day. Well this wedding was off the scales for both!

The wedding ceremony took place at St George’s Hall in the heart of Liverpool and both grooms chose to walk down the aisle with their nans, how cute is that?! The ceremony itself was full of laughs, especially the part where they had to give their names and it transpired that James has about 47!! Haha! Once the legal bit was done we headed outside for some family pics before I got to whisk the happy couple off for some portraits.

Liverpool is such a great city for photography and we were spoilt for choice when it came to backdrops. We spent a bit of time in the gardens at St George’s Hall before making our way over to Leaf for the party, stopping off anywhere colourful to grab a few shots!

Leaf looked fantastic as ever in it’s own unique, shabby chic kind of way! The guests were being entertained by the couple’s friend Abi when we arrived and the room was decorated with flowers from their own garden and loads of origami animals that they’d made themselves!

After the speeches and a feast of vegetarian food I got to take the couple out again for some portraits. It was a real treat for me to get to spend so much time having a laugh and being creative with my couple! We even popped into Bold Street Coffee for an espresso which probably explains the energy they both had on the dancefloor shortly after!

I think it’s safe to say, these two know how to party! I was in the middle of the dancefloor at one point, trying to take pictures whilst laughing my head off at the carnage around me! Absolutely bloody brilliant!! Oh and I can’t forget the cake cutting! It’s usually one of my least favourite parts of the day but not this one! I can honestly say I’ve never been more entertained during a cake cutting and the over enthusiastic feeding/squishing of cake into each other’s faces! Brilliant!!

Jack and James, what can I say?! I had a feeling you were going to be brilliant fun to work with from the minute we met, and then when you asked if you could come round to meet Cooper I realised you were actually my dream clients!! I loved every minute of your big day, I only wish I could have stayed all night to party with you!! Thank you so much for asking me to capture it all, I wish I could do it every week!! Come for a walk with me and Coops soon!! xxxx

Kind words!

Here are some lovely words that these two left for me on Google;

“We happened across Emma after speaking to a friend and thought she sounded fantastic from the start. We browsed her amazing website and saw bursts of colour and radiant smiles of wedding guests captured at their best.

My now husband arranged to meet with Emma in the wedding reception; Leaf on Bold Street, Liverpool. We had a coffee and a chat about how she enjoys candid photography and capturing moments that are less formal. That combined with her telling us about Cooper, her beautiful pooch, sealed the deal. Leaving Leaf she had already made us feel at ease, her shining personality and humour matched ours.

In the lead up to the wedding, she was a complete blessing. Emma invited us to meet Cooper and have another cup of tea and decide on the direction we wanted in regards to capturing the night.

On the day she blended into the crowd and I have to admit I wanted her to stay to have a boogie when she finished. She was the consummate professional, knowing how to effortlessly guide me and James into phenomenal photographs.

When we received the photographs I was nothing short of proud, proud of how she captured the fun, the laughter and the love. Friends, family and guests have all been delighted with the results.

I would recommend to anyone who wants a fun talented friendly photographer.

Thank you Emma.

Love J&J”
