In June I was lucky enough to visit Lucerne in Switzerland for Lauren & Alex’s pre-wedding shoot!
I met Lauren last year when she was back in Liverpool sorting stuff for the wedding while Alex was at home in Lucerne, busy with work. As we sat in Leaf drinking tea and chatting about their plans I made a cheeky comment about flying over to Switzerland to do their pre-wedding shoot, to my delight this was met with “YES!!” by Lauren who seemed even more excited about the idea than me!
Fast forward a few months, lots of texts and emails later, and I was on a plane to a country I had wanted to go back to since I was a teenager and we went on a school trip! Lauren met me at the airport, snacks and cans of Prosecco in hand (what a star!) and we headed back to their apartment overlooking Lake Lucerne! It was even more stunning than I remembered! That night we drank some wine and ate a lovely meal before hitting the hay ahead of our pre-wedding shoot/adventure!
The next morning we set off for a day of walking, chatting, shooting, eating and drinking! We started off around Lake Lucerne (which was freezing cold I found out the next day when Lauren took me for a swim!) before heading into the city. If you ever find yourself in the area I strongly recommend a visit, it’s beautiful! In the afternoon we took a boat ride over to Meggen which was like something from a film set, absolutely breathtaking! We ended the day back in the city were we took a trip up to the sculpture park which was closed, much to our frustration! We did think about breaking in but settled for a shot of the heart from a distance! (last pic)
Lauren & Alex, thank you so much for inviting me into your home, your hospitality was second to none! I will definitely be back for another visit! 😉
Anyway! The big day is almost here as these two get married tomorrow in the Victoria Gallery & Museum in Liverpool! Woo-hoo!! It’s just going to be a big party really, with some vows thrown in and I CANNOT wait!! 🙂
