Sandhole Oak Barn Wedding – Laura & Sean

I love these two. Let’s just get that out of the way before I start gushing over how much I love them, their families, friends and their wedding day!

I think it’s safe to say we hit it off as soon as we met. They came round to my house to meet me and within a few minutes my dog Cooper had stuck his nose right in Sean’s crotch! Well that’s one way to say hello I suppose?! Luckily for me Laura and Sean found it funny and the deal was sealed there and then!

Our friendship grew from there, we spent a lovely afternoon together in Formby (without Cooper, much to Sean’s disappointment!) for their pre-wedding shoot which you can see here. They were a bit nervous (especially Laura) at the thought of having to snog and be all lovey-dovey in front of me but they did really well, we spent most of the time just talking and laughing and by the end of it I think they felt a lot more relaxed about the wedding day photos!

I know I say this a lot but I really do get the most laid back, relaxed, FUN couples! This wedding didn’t feel like work AT ALL! I already knew some of the wedding party as Laura is friends with my cousin and I’d shot the weddings of a couple of their other friends too! So from the minute I arrived I was made to feel really welcome, laughing and chatting and just generally having a ball! And it continued for the rest of the day with Laura & Sean’s families and friends treating me like they’d known me for years and at the end of the night I was told to get my glitter on, put my camera down and have some pizza and a pint! WINNER!! Shame I couldn’t stay out partying all night, because I would have done if I wasn’t driving (and probably regretted it the next day!) 🙂

Best bit of the day – Laura – our first dance, even though I could hardly move in my skirt I loved every second of it! Sean – the moments just after the ceremony, walking out of the barn in the sunshine as husband and wife ?

Advice for other couples – Do your wedding exactly the way you and your partner want to. Sandhole Oak Barn was the only venue we looked at, and it was absolutely perfect for the laidback wedding we wanted, so I’d say go with your gut and don’t ask for too many opinions along the way. Work out what are the most important aspects of the day and prioritise them when working out how to spend your budget! No one remembers the centre pieces/chair decorations etc ?…oh and book Emma as your wedding photographer because she is amazing!”
