Ness Gardens wedding photography
On a typical July day last year I had the pleasure of shooting Briege & Leanne’s stunning summer wedding at Ness Gardens and Oh Me Oh My. I say a typical July day in the sense that it was forecast to rain! Oh I do love the good old British summer! I’m not one to shy away from a bit of rain though, I’ve had my fair share of wet weddings, especially in 2017!
During bridal prep there was a lot of chat about whether the outdoor ceremony at Ness Gardens was going to happen. Briege and Leanne were both desperate to go ahead as planned, I mean the main reason for booking Ness is so that you can get married outside in the rock garden! The couple decided to stick with the plan and risk the rain, everyone had umbrellas so it was fine! I spent the morning with Briege at 30 James Street while my amazing second shooter Hannah was at the Titanic Hotel up the road with Leanne. Both girls exchanged special gifts with each other, the rest of the wedding party and matching gifts for the proud dads! There were a few tears at that point but on the whole everyone was giddy with excitement!
At Ness there was a tiny smattering of rain as the girls arrived, both entering the rock garden from opposite sides and meeting in the middle. What a brilliantly emotional moment that was! During the ceremony the sun came out and you can see the exact moment if you look for the shot of one of the bridesmaids looking up at the sky. The ceremony was lovely, filled with emotion, laughter and love!
Once all the legalities were out of the way it was time to celebrate! Briege and Leanne had put on drinks and little shortbread treats in the shape of hearts for the guests to enjoy, oh and lawn games! As I took the happy couple off for a little stroll around the gorgeous gardens of Ness the guests were left to entertain themselves for a bit. Giant Jenga proving to be very popular!

From Ness we headed back over to Liverpool to one of my favourite city centre wedding venues, Oh Me Oh My. The venue itself is lovely but Briege and Leanne had added there own special decorative touches and it looked simply stunning. Add to that the amazing views you get of the city from the roof terrace, especially the iconic Liver Buildings, and you really couldn’t ask for much more from a venue!
Fits of the giggles happened regularly throughout the day, I even cracked up myself at one point on the roof when Leanne’s best man made a smutty comment that had us all doubled over laughing! There was more of the same during the speeches which is always good. I think poor Leanne was a little embarrassed though as Wayne told the story of the night she met her future wife! Both brides took the opportunity to say a few heartfelt words to each other and then it was time to carry on the party! A photo-booth, more bubbly, popcorn, cake and lots and lots of dancing topped off what can only be described as a bloody brilliant day!!!
Mrs & Mrs Campbell-Syers, THANK YOU so much for having me along for the ride! I smiled and laughed so much my face ached as I’m sure yours did too!? Lots of love, Emma xxxxxxx
